Summer Room - WITH AIR CONDITIONING

This summer has seen some exciting changes for our team. Our team has grown in both numbers and skill. We now have 15 or more people on the mat many nights. We have had several promotions nights and our competitive players have seen increasing success at tournaments. But the MOST important change -

WE HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!

This is a big deal. We're excited to be in our summer room with AC units to help combat the heat and humidity.

So, if you're not currently joining us on the mat every Tuesday and Thursday, this is the perfect time to come visit us. We'd love to have you join us!

Tohkon Classic 2016 Recap

Four members of the Hollis Park Judo Team, Natalie Habsburg, Grace Talusan, Stefan Habsburg and Joe Taylor, traveled to Chicago to compete in the 21st Tohkon Classic. The Tohkon Classic is the toughest regional Judo tournament in the Midwest. This year’s event featured players from as far away as Nigeria and Germany.

Each of the Hollis Park players brought home a bronze medal from Tohkon 21. We are especially proud given the fact that Natalie and Grace faced National Champions, Stefan fought some of the top players in the country and Joe gained international experience by fighting a Nigerian.

More importantly, each of the Hollis Park players demonstrated significant, both technical and tactical, improvement. The 21st Tohkon has set a higher standard for Natalie, Grace, Stefan and Joe. I have no doubt that they will meet and exceed that challenge.
